You may not know this yet, but the Oberwirt is also renowned among wine connoisseurs as an outstanding wine hotel. Just like in every other aspect of our hotel, we take great care in offering only the finest quality when it comes to wine.
Our wine list, which was awarded the South Tyrolean Wine Prize for the best wine list in South Tyrol in 2012, features only the best wines with full-bodied bouquets and intense aromas. With approximately 500 international top wines – including our own award-winning wine from our very own Eichenstein estate – we invite you to indulge and taste.

On the long slopes, under the sun of Meran, in the nearby Freiberg near Meran, the house-made Oberwirt wine matures. Like many things, winemaking at the Waldner estate has a long tradition—specifically, a tradition that spans over 11 generations. Owner Josef Waldner has made it his passion to bring out the best from the soil and serve guests and wine lovers with fine South Tyrolean wines.
The grapes ripen on the Eichenstein estate, and later, they are transformed into velvety red wines and fresh, fruity white wines that accompany you at Oberwirt. Let yourself be taken into the world of wine, for example, by taking a tour and tasting at the Eichenstein winery.
