The best free tips for your leisure time during your family holiday in South Tyrol

We have compiled some particularly exciting tips for adventurous activities for the whole family here. Have fun!

The Marlinger Waal adventure path:

How old is that horse-chestnut tree? What do stones sound like? There's lots to learn and experience at the 13 interactive stop off points along the two kilometre long forest adventure path. The route follows the beautiful and picturesque Marlinger Waalweg.

The family meadow - Taser in the Hirzer region:

For couples with children the Taser family meadow in Schenna is the perfect excursion destination: here you'll find a mountain zoo with petting corner, a high-ropes climbing garden and a huge playground with a Red Indian village. A cable car takes you into the idyllic family meadow in the countryside.

Blätterbach Canyon in Aldein and Radein – UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, GEOPARC:

Equipped with protective helmets, you and your children can take in the stunningly beautiful Blätterbach Canyon and become geologists. Countless geological treasures, found in all colours, shapes and sizes, tell the story of Earth's development over millions and millions of years: natural history at your fingertips.

The ice holes of Eppan – the ice-cold secret:

A natural phenomena of a very special kind awaits you during your walk through the forest at the foot of the Gandberg mountain near Eppan: Ice holes which stay frozen even during summer and where even ice stalactites can be seen. The explanation for this lies in a physical phenomena and the quality of the porphyry stones which clutter the forests. There are plants growing here at 500 metres altitude which are normally only seen at 1,200 metres.

The Iceman - Ötzi at the Archeological Museum in Bolzano:

Ötzi is over 5,000 years old and was discovered in the Ötztaler Alps in 1991 at a height of 3,210 metres. He can be seen at the Archeological Museum in Bolzano where his world and life is actively presented.
