Sepp Waldner's wines
Sepp Waldner has been particularly fond of tending his vineyards in the last few years, which is not really surprising - after all, good wine and good foods are inseparable for a true gourmet.
In 2001 he began to cultivate and partially replant his vineyards. The "Wiedenacker" vineyard, which is perfect for white wines, is planted with Sauvignon (45%), Weissburgunder (40%) and Riesling (15%). It was here in 2003 that he harvested the first grapes for his universally popular white wine cuvée "Gloria Dei".
The "Wartegg" vineyard is perfect for red wine grapes, thanks to its sunny location. Sepp Waldner decided to split the cultivation area into Merlot (60%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (40%).
Along with oenologist Hartmann Doná, Sepp Waldner has launched a velvety, lively cuvée by the name of "Baccara".
Both cuvées have established a name for themselves far beyond the borders of South Tyrol. This led to Sepp Waldner's decision to cultivate additional wines: a varietal Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
