The Romantik Hotel Oberwirt can be found on the sunny southwest-facing slope above Merano – also known as the “Pearl of South Tyrol”. The old country inn dating from the 15th century has long been considered to be one of the most beautiful Romantik Hotels. The homely atmosphere, contemporary luxurious furnishings and the especially warm and expert service are all features of the hotel.
Over the years the hotel has been altered and extended with loving attention to detail. For example, one particularly attractive feature of the hotel is the “Golden Roof” just like its equivalent in Innsbruck, and behind which there is a special story... when the renowned Munich goldsmith Max Heiden asked for the hand of his daughter, Andrea, in marriage, Sepp Waldner thought that he must at least balance her weight in gold – and no sooner said than done, the Golden Roof of Marling came into being!
Comfort is writ large at the Oberwirt hotel and restaurant! The cosy rooms and suites invite you to feel at home, as do the wonderfully individual wooden parlours, the roomy bar area with its piano and of course the fabulous guest garden in which all meals are served in warm weather. Everyone soon finds his or her own favourite spot here! In addition there is a generously proportioned outdoor pool, a superb indoor pool and ample health, wellbeing and beauty area “Amadea”... Last but not least the Oberwirt owes its excellent reputation to the sensational cuisine, the exquisite selection of wines and the friendly service from the family and staff!
