Marling and its surroundings are a real hikers paradise with something for everyone, from leisurely walks along the irrigation channel path to strenuous mountain peak trips.
From the Oberwirt a short climb leads directly up to the Marlinger Waalweg (irrigation channel trail). This runs along the side of Marling Mountain a little above the villages of Forst, Marling and Tscherms – past Lebenberg Castle – and then as far as Lana. An ideal warm up for all generations, with interesting learning areas and a forest nature trail.
Our weekly walking highlight and something that is really guaranteed to lift the mood is the popular summer walk to the private Waldner Alp! To reward you after your exertions you can enjoy a typical South Tyrolean snack with delicious bacon and cheese, “Vinschger Paarln” (a kind of local speciality bread) and wine... On top of this our hiking guide, Eric Malleier, organises interesting mountain trips every week.
